WisDOT Proposed Improvements STH 164 from STH 36 to Denoon Rd in Local Officials Meeting

On Tuesday August 23, 2022, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) held a Local Officials Meeting (LOM) for the subject project to discuss proposed improvements to Big Bend Road (STH 164) from STH 36 to Denoon Rd in Racine and Waukesha counties.

WisDOT is currently proposing a resurfacing project on this segment. The proposed design would mill off 4-4 1/2” of existing asphalt and overlay with 4-4 1/2” of new asphalt surface with some full depth base patching.  Various cross culverts require cleaning and general maintenance.  Guardrail may be replaced at two locations.  The Seven Waters Trail crossing is being evaluated for safety improvements.  No intersection geometric improvements will be done under this project.  Signing will be updated per policy and new pavement markings will be placed.  The work may also include additional drainage maintenance, traffic control, and erosion control.
